HITS ("we," "us," or "our") operates the HITS mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our App and services.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

→Account information — email address and password when you create an account
→Profile information — display name, bio, and genre tags you add to your profile
→Artist information — band or artist name, social media links (Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, SoundCloud) if you sign up as an artist
→Gig data — venue name, address, date, time, and genre tags for shows you post as an artist

Information Collected Automatically

→Location data — your device's approximate or precise location, used to show gigs near you. We only access location while the App is in use and with your permission.
→Usage data — screens visited, features used, and time spent in the App, collected to improve the product
→Device information — device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers

Payment Information

Artist subscriptions ($5/month) are processed entirely through Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number or payment details. All billing is handled by Apple or Google under their respective terms and privacy policies.

How We Use Your Information

→To create and manage your account
→To display gigs near your location on the Discover feed and map
→To show your artist profile and gig postings to other users
→To process and manage your artist subscription
→To send you transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
→To improve the App and diagnose technical issues
→To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to serve you targeted advertisements.

Information We Share

Public Information

Artist profiles and gig postings are public within the App. Any information you add to your artist profile — name, bio, genre tags, social links — is visible to all users, including guests who have not created an account.

Service Providers

→Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider. Your account data and gig information is stored on Supabase servers. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
→Apple / Google — handle all subscription billing for artist accounts. See Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
→Google Maps — used to render the map view and resolve venue addresses. Location data shared with Google Maps is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

Gig postings you have made may be removed from public view upon account deletion, but may be retained in anonymized form for internal analytics.

Your Rights & Choices

→Access & correction — you can view and edit your profile information at any time in the App
→Account deletion — you can delete your account from the Profile screen. This removes your personal data from our systems within 30 days.
→Location permissions — you can revoke location access at any time in your device settings. The App will still work, but gig distances will not be shown.
→Subscription cancellation — artist subscriptions are managed through Apple or Google and can be cancelled at any time through your device's subscription settings.
→Data requests — to request a copy of your data or ask questions about your information, email howistheset@gmail.com

Children's Privacy

HITS is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at howistheset@gmail.com and we will delete that information.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and secure authentication through Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
